Lesson booking and cancellation
Booking a lesson
- Booking a lesson is easy; you don't need to sign up.
- You can choose from the lessons available in my booking calendar; you will only see the available lessons in my calendar. Choose the day and time that suits you. In all cases, the dates indicate when the lesson starts.
- Based on your IP address, my booking calendar will always show you the lesson time according to YOUR local time. If you live in Australia, for example, and you see that a lesson starts at 5:00 am, it is 5:00 am for you, your time, and for me, say, 7:00 pm the previous day. If you don't see a green, bookable lesson on a particular day, it means that you can't meet me on that day.
Booking procedure step-by-step
- Select the lesson that suits you and click on the start date to make your booking.
- In the second step, in the cart, you will see the date and time of the lesson you want to book. The price is always the one we have agreed. You need to log in to see the proper lesson price. If you wish, you can book several lessons in one booking process, not just one. If you want to book other lessons, click on the "Book another lesson" button.
- As a third step, enter your details. IMPORTANT: When booking an English lesson, you DO NOT and CAN NOT pay for the booked lesson(s). You do not need to pay for the lessons. Payment is by mutual agreement.
- Click on the fourth step to finalise your booking. You can put this date on your calendar. That's it. It took about 20 seconds.
When the booking is done, the system automatically sends a message to you. The booked lesson will appear after you log in; you will be redirected there. If, for some reason, you need to cancel a lesson later, you can do so online after logging in. You will have a lesson online at the time you booked. Make a note of the appointment, prepare for the class and arrive on time.
Can I cancel a lesson?
Yes, you can cancel your lesson(s), but there is a 24-hour cancellation policy. Only 24 hours before the start of your online lesson can you cancel it. After that, you cannot do so; if you cannot come, even for reasons beyond your control, you will have to pay for the lesson.
How many English lessons can I cancel?
You can cancel 10% of your planned annual English lessons for any reason if you have regular English lessons. It means that if you have one regular English lesson every week, you have about 50 English lessons scheduled in a year. I will ask you to cancel up to five lessons a year only.
What if I cancel more than 10%?
Suppose you cancel more than 10% of your annual lessons. In that case, you must pay for these English lessons even if you cancelled them in time. However, you will retain these lessons. I will keep track of these English lessons that have already been paid for and unused, and you can book them later. At that point, the lesson, since it was already paid for, will be entered in my balance sheet with zero (0) HUF, i.e. all that happened is that you paid for this lesson in advance but only used it later.
In summary: You can cancel 10% of your lessons in a year for any reason. In addition, I will credit you for the cancelled English lessons, but you must pay them in advance. You can book the replacement lessons for free when you want to book these lessons that you cancelled earlier and paid upfront. You won't lose money.
How long do I have to book a replacement lesson cancelled over 10%?
There is no time limit. You can book a prepaid English lesson when it's convenient for you. As long as we work together, you can book these lessons anytime. However, if you stop working with me and have not yet been able to use these lessons, that amount is lost and cannot be used later. I want to force you to book the English lessons you've cancelled over 10%. This is both good for me and necessary for you.
How can I cancel my English lessons?
You can cancel your online English lessons here on the website. To do this, log in on this website (on the right-hand side, there is a user icon or the Main Menu - English lessons - Cancel English lessons tab). Here you will see a list of all your English lessons, those you have had so far and those you will have afterwards. You find the lesson you want to cancel and click on the "Cancel lesson" button. You then have nothing more to do. The system will notify you and me of the cancelled lesson; it will be free again for someone else to book.
How you shouldn't cancel a lesson
If you want to cancel your lesson, you can do it here on the website. Don't email, text, phone, message on Messenger, Skype, etc. Cancel your lessons here on the website as described above. Why? Because the method I suggest is the fastest and safest. In this case, my other students can book the lesson, which takes much longer with different methods. On the other hand, it is your job to do, and I would be grateful if you could do it.
What is online language learning?
An online lesson takes place online in which you and I, the teacher, and you, the student, don't meet face-to-face and don't work in a traditional classroom. An online lesson takes place on the internet using a VOIP program. Because of this, you can be anywhere in the world. We hear and see each other as if we were in a classroom. There can be thousands of kilometres between us. Google Meet is free, so learning English online is free of cost. If you've used a live chat program before, you'll know what to expect from a technical point of view during an online chat.
An online lesson is a perfect substitute for a traditional lesson; it is not inferior in efficiency, and in any respect, even better than face-to-face English chat. One of its advantages is that body language as a communication channel is mostly absent, so you rely entirely on your ears to understand English. This can give a significant boost to your comprehension skills.
What device do I need?
- You need a stable internet connection. It can even be mobile internet.
- You need a computer, a tablet or a smartphone.
- You need a headset with a microphone or a headset.
That's it. No other technical equipment is needed. I will provide you with all the other tools. I will give you a monolingual and a bilingual dictionary. You will receive a textbook, skills development books, reading materials, audio materials and videos suitable for your level. You will receive mock language exam tests if your goal is a language exam. The audio materials I have created will help you understand problematic topics. In short, you get all the English course materials in electronic format; you don't have to spend anything on them. In addition, you are a motivated language learner who wants to learn English. I can teach you many things, but you will only learn English or improve from your current level if you want to. I can't give you motivation. You will, of course, receive help, plenty of exercises, a framework for your English language learning, and encouragement, but you have to bring your own motivation.
